There are many volunteer opportunities for both medical and non-medical volunteers at CCHC.  We require all our volunteers to attend an orientation session which is offered twice a month. Volunteers are trained by other volunteers through a “shadowing system” before they are put to work in the clinic.

MEDICAL VOLUNTEERS

Providers

Currently licensed MDs, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians’ Assistants can volunteer as medical providers at CCHC.  They must provide proof of current liability insurance.

Nurses

RNs, LPNs, and experienced EMTs and CMAs who hold current licenses may volunteer on the clinical floor at the clinic.  CCHC provides liability coverage for them.

Phlebotomists

Certified phlebotomists may volunteer in the lab at CCHC.  (please note, as of 6/1/2010 we have no availability for volunteer phlebotomists.)

Physical Therapists

Currently licensed physical therapist may volunteer at CCHC.

NON MEDICAL VOLUNTEERS

Interpreters

Spanish speakers are used daily for interpreting in the clinic.  Fluency in Spanish and ability to quickly assimilate medical terminology required.  People fluent in other languages will be used as needed and should contact the Volunteer Coordinator directly.

Administrative Positions

Volunteers are used for patient check in and scheduling as well as data entry. We also use volunteers with knowledge of financials for financial screenings on an “as needed” basis.
